چکیده

PROPELLER T1 FLAIR acquisition with no motion. (stationary), motion with correction for rotation and with no correction for rotation. Top row shows enlargements of the frontal lobes and 2 example slices are shown in the middle and lower rows. Note blurring evident in images with no rotational correction while high image quality is maintained with rotation correction that is comparable to images acquired while the subject was stationary. Figure 1. a) Acquisition trajectory with an over-sampled calibration blade (black) and accelerated blades (blue). b) enlargement of the calibration blade and a single accelerated blade.

Comparison of contrast-enhanced T1-weighted FLAIR with BLADE, and spin-echo T1-weighted sequences in intracranial MRI.

PURPOSE We compared periodically rotated overlapping parallel lines with enhanced reconstruction (PROPELLER, BLADE) MR technique with spin echo (SE) technique for evaluation of artifacts, and detection and delineation of brain lesions. MATERIALS AND METHODS Contrast-enhanced T1-weighted fluid attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) images with BLADE technique (CE T1W-FLAIR BLADE) and contrast-e...

A New Joint-Blade SENSE Reconstruction for Accelerated PROPELLER MRI

PROPELLER technique is widely used in MRI examinations for being motion insensitive, but it prolongs scan time and is restricted mainly to T2 contrast. Parallel imaging can accelerate PROPELLER and enable more flexible contrasts. Here, we propose a multi-step joint-blade (MJB) SENSE reconstruction to reduce the noise amplification in parallel imaging accelerated PROPELLER. MJB SENSE utilizes th...

Diffusion-weighted PROPELLER with a novel unaliasing technique for small Field of View imaging

Diffusion-weighted (DW) imaging is widely used in clinical imaging. To address the strong distortion encountered in EPI-based DW techniques, split-blade DW-PROPELLER [1] was proposed. With PROPELLER, when imaging a small Field of View (FOV) of a large object, No-Phase-Wrap (NPW) is usually applied to remove aliased signal in each blade before combining them [2]. However, with this conventional ...

BLADE for T1-weighted contrast with spectral fat suppression: two different approaches for head and neck imaging

INTRODUCTION: Up to now, Periodically Rotated Overlapping ParallEL Lines with Enhanced Reconstruction (PROPELLER) or BLADE imaging has been applied to reduce motion artifacts mainly in T2-weighted imaging. Using an inversion pulse at the beginning of the sequence results in T1-weighted contrast – this technique has been evaluated for T1-weighted imaging in the brain after application of contras...

Comparison of brain MR images at 1.5T using BLADE and rectilinear techniques for patients who move during data acquisition.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE MR imaging of moving patients can be challenging and motion correction techniques have been proposed though some have associated new artifacts. The objective of this study was to semiquantitatively compare brain MR images of moving patients obtained at 1.5T by using partially radial and rectilinear acquisition techniques. MATERIALS AND METHODS FLAIR, T2-, T1-, and contr...
